These attractive wine goblets are recycling at its best!

Made from the top of a green bordelaise wine bottle, the glasses are a fine example of how to re-use old glass bottles and transform them into a new, stylish piece of glassware.

To transform a bottle into a glass the bottles are cut, the edge ground and then melted to create a smooth surface to drink from. They are then popped in the oven for 2 hours to make them hard-wearing. From start to finish it takes about 3 hours for a bottle to go through the transformation process into a beautiful wine goblet – clever eh!

The Clear Green Wine Goblets are packaged in a cardboard gift pack of 2 glasses.

Rather than recycling the glass wine bottles, they are transformed into these lovely wine glasses which is a more energy efficient process compared to traditional recycling as the bottles do not have to be completely melted down or re-heated.

Re-using a wine bottle to make glassware for our homes also helps to save on natural resources used in the production of glass.

The Clear Green Wine Goblets are made by a small Cornish company, Green Glass.

In addition to sourcing as many raw materials (glass bottles) as possible locally, the company also ensures they do as much as possible with the environment in mind – production process are energy efficient, water in the factory is re-used and packaging is recycled.
