Our melted Wine Bottle Dishes are a fun, eco friendly alternative for serving up nibbles at meal times and dinner parties.

Perfect for holding all sorts of small snacks such as nuts, olives or tapas, they can also be used for serving dips like hummus or guacamole and make charming olive oil dipping bowls for bread and cheese sticks.

Melting the recycled glass to make the wine bottle dishes in the kiln requires 30% less energy compared to melting the raw materials to make new glass bottles and jars.

Recycled glass products also reduce the need for limestone, soda ash and sand as each tonne of glass recycled in the furnace replaces 1.2 tonnes of raw materials to make new glass.

The wine bottle dishes are made by Jane in North Shields on Tyneside. All the bottles are collected from the local recycling plant and from a local Italian restaurant.

Jane’s studio where the bottles are melted is within an artists cooperative building were tenants share rent, electricity and water costs.
