The photo frames are made using the empty foil pouches from juice drinks popular in the Philippines.  The juice drinks are drunk by almost everyone however a large number of discarded juice packs which are non-biodegradable end up not only in landfill sites and incinerators but also litter streets and clog drainage systems, lakes and rivers.

To prevent this from happening regular collections are organised from private homes, schools, hospitals, offices, community centres and even festivals and parties.  The juice packs are then sorted, cleaned and recycled into an array of products including these charming photo frames.
